Melco FireStopping is based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Fire stopping, fire caulking, and spray fireproofing for commercial and high-rise construction.
Charlotte is home base for Melco. We seal the openings where pipes, conduit, cable, and ductwork pass through fire-rated walls and floors, using UL tested firestop systems so the assembly's rating holds at every penetration. That covers wall penetrations, floor penetrations, and top-of-wall joints on new construction and on existing commercial buildings.
Joints, gaps, and smaller openings that a full penetration system doesn't cover are closed with fire-rated caulk. It's a detail inspectors look at, and it gets done as part of the same scope as the rest of the fire stopping.
Spray-applied fireproofing is the thick, textured coating on structural steel beams, columns, and decks. It protects the steel frame so it holds its strength longer in a fire, and it's often needed on the same Charlotte project as fire stopping. Melco does both, so the full fire-protection scope can come from one contractor.
